Instuctions for creating the navigation controls for your page

This page is for copying and using as embedded media in your own page.

Firstly, decide which options you require.
If your page is the first one in your topic sequence, there will be no 'BACK' control.
If your page is the last one, there will be no 'NEXT' control.
You must decide whether you will be linking to a 'MORE' sub-topic or not.

Copy this page and paste it into a text processor such as 'Notepad'.

In your text processor, delete the blocks of code below which correspond to the options that you do not require.

Now replace NEXTPAGENAME, MOREPAGENAME and BACKPAGENAME with wikids page names as appropriate.
For example, if the page you are working on is the first in a topic sequence, there will be no BACKPAGENAME
but there must be a NEXTPAGENAME if this is not a one-page topic, and there may be a MOREPAGENAME
if there is to be a level of additional material.

Please edit carefully, making sure you do not otherwise alter the code. You can't do any harm,
this procedure will have to be repeated if you have accidentaly deleted the odd backslash
or quotation mark.

When you are ready, copy the modified code from your text editor.
Go into edit mode on your Wikids page, and make sure you are at the start of the page.
Click the 'embed media' icon, and paste your code into the dialog box.
Click OK and then save the page.
If there is a problem, go into edit mode again, delete the 'embed media' markup and repeat these instructions.

One thing to remember when testing: The 'Up' control is equivalent to the browser backpage function.
It will work normally in normal use, but if you have just been editing a page, 'Up' will return you
to editing mode. Just 'Cancel' and re-test your page by navigating to it as a user would,
from a contents page or from a calling topic.
